A lively and flamboyant shopping experience!
In September 2007, Exeter's Princesshay completed a four-year redevelopment programme, which transformed this quarter into a vibrant new shopping centre. It now
houses more than 60 shops and several restaurants in a modern environment just off Exeter's High Street.
By day or by night, Princesshay Square has added an eating element to the centre's appeal and proclaims itself very well as a continental styled piazza for pavement
tables and entertainment.
With so many shops and restaurants now housed within the Princesshay Shopping Quarter, this retail development has still been able to make pleasurable use of the existing ancient views and medieval resources. This is emphasised with views of Exeter's magnificent St Peter's Cathedral prominently within sight when walking up Princesshay to Princesshay Square. Other alterations have also preserved and made great use of the existing Roman Wall, incorporating it to form Roman Walk - stylish shops on one side of the walkway and the historic Roman Wall on the other.
