What You Missed: Joey the Lips
31st July 2019 ** Event Now Ended ** The nation's funkiest 10 piece band with an insanely loyal local following.
We bring you 3 great vocalists, a driving rhythm section and a kicking horn section that won't stay still for a second. This band really do love what they do; their on-stage energy is infectious and they create a fantastic atmosphere.
Joey the Lips is best described as Soul/Blues & Funk with a bit of Disco, Motown & Rock thrown in. They make the songs they cover their own. They describe the show as 'Funky Soul, Blues & Disco Revue'! Whilst Soul is still the staple diet, today's set is very diverse; from 'Gimme Some Lovin' (Spencer Davis Group) to Beyonce's 'Crazy in Love'. From 'River Deep Mountain High' to Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now' and the band's storming finale of the B52's 'Love Shack' - with a heavy metal medley thrown in.
Fast, fun and furious - we guarantee you won't be able to sit still! Unmissable.
Free parking from 6.30pm. Gates open 7.15pm. Concert starts 8pm and ends 10pm. We offer free car parking and disabled access. BBQ food, bar and hot drinks on sale until the end of the interval (or sold out).
All seating on grass banks and terraces. There is also an easy access deck for disabled visitors, who should telephone beforehand to book a space on the deck. (Please bring your own chairs!).
We will stage the concert if safe to do so ? come prepared. Early bird/Advance: no refunds or transfers if the concert is cancelled or is staged in the rain. Premium/Child: refunds must be claimed by 10am on day of concert (or see website if concert is cancelled).
