What You Missed: Tour of Britain - Stage 6 9th September 2016 ** Event Now Ended **
Devon to host premier cycle event

The county, after a year's absence will again be hosting a stage of The Tour of Britain cycle race.

Britain’s premier cycle race returns to the county in September with the Sidmouth to Dartmoor section of the event.

It was announced that the county will be holding the Devon route that will "take in Sidmouth, Ottery St Mary, Honiton, Willand, Tiverton, Crediton, Moretonhampstead, Haldon Forest, and Chudleigh before climbing from Bovey Tracey to the only summit finish of The Tour.

In total the route is 152.7km long, including 3,101metres of climbs.

The main challenges will be at Doccombe, from Ide up to Haldon and Haytor itself with other climbs from Ottery to Honiton and over Cadbury Hill from Bickleigh to Crediton."
