Clear the diary. Haldon Gold Cup Day is back.

One of the biggest dates in Devon’s sporting calendar returns to Exeter Racecourse on Friday 6 November, bringing big-name racing, a buzzing crowd, live music and one of the best days out of the autumn.

The BetMGM Haldon Gold Cup is the race everyone comes to see. Exeter’s feature race of the year, it’s an early-season test for some seriously exciting chasers, with leading trainers and jockeys heading to Haldon Hill in search of one of the West Country’s most coveted prizes.

Last year Thistle Ask took the honours. Who’ll be next?

And you definitely don’t need to know your handicaps from your hurdles to have a great day. Grab your friends, get a drink, pick a horse and find a spot to cheer it home. There’ll be live music from Aston throughout the day, adding to the atmosphere between races.

And when the last horse crosses the line, don’t head home just yet. The Shrine will take over after racing with live music to keep the party going and get the weekend off to a flying start.

Racing has taken place on Haldon Hill for centuries and the Gold Cup has become part of Exeter’s sporting story, with a roll call of brilliant horses, trainers and jockeys behind it.

Whether you’re racing obsessed, coming with a group from work or simply fancy doing something a little different on a Friday, this is the one to put in the diary.
