Outdoor Mobility Showcase Event
when: February 10th
what: A free showcase event is being held in Exeter from 11am-6pm, for people with limited mobility to demonstrate the exciting range of all-terrain mobility equipment and accessible bicycles that are now available to help people who normally have difficulty walking and cycling access the countryside.
There will be a wide range of equipment available on the day for people to try out, from all-terrain mobility scooters and off-road buggies to hand cycles and recumbent cycles. There will also be a wealth of information about many of the wonderful countryside locations in the region where equipment is already available for hire and free parking, entry, and refreshments will be provided. It is hoped that the event will also attract Countryside Managers from across the region to demonstrate that even the most hilly and muddy places can be made easily accessible to everyone if the appropriate equipment is provided.

The event is being organised by the Countryside Mobility scheme which began in 2010 and is working to improve access to the countryside for people with limited mobility living in and visiting the South West region. The scheme is run by Exeter based charity Living Options Devon and has been supported with a grant from Natural England as part of its Access to Nature programme, funded from the Big Lottery Funds Changing Spaces programme.
